The heart is a
wondrous pump that powers the human body. It starts to beat
four weeks after conception and is fully developed by eight
weeks. Each person's heart
is about the size of their fist. A newborn baby's heart weighs
about 2/3 of an ounce and an adult's weighs from 9 to 11 ounces.
This very small muscular organ pumps nearly 2,000 gallons of
blood through our body every day. Through stress and improper
eating, the heart can become weakened and need special nourishment.
The heart is our life pump, and when it is not properly fed
(with wholesome food ) it suffers malfunction (weakness and
heart attacks) causing the heart failure condition which is
one of the world's greatest killers.
Each year heart disease is at the top of the list
of America's most serious health problems and it is the leading
cause of death. In heart disease - or more accurately, coronary
artery disease (CAD) - the arteries that nourish the heart become
clogged. The blood carries the oxygen and nutrients the heart
needs to do its work. The heart can store most nutrients, but
not oxygen and it needs a constant supply to keep pumping.
The medical establishment says that heart disease
is irreversible, that surgery and drugs are necessary to prolong
life. Yet there is solid, clinically proven evidence that
the body can heal itself and actually reverse heart disease,
by using herbs and effecting lifestyle changes (such as reducing
stress, exercising, and eating healthier). Most nutritional
authorities urge everyone to get at least five servings of fruits
and vegetables every day, hopefully more than that. Yet a study
shows that only 10 percent of Americans get even five. There
are many foods and herbs that can help prevent and treat heart
disease.
The herb combination in LIFE QUEST HERBS' HEART
AID is designed to nourish, strengthen and build the heart.
They prevent hardening of the arteries, help with heart problems
and regulate both high and low blood pressure. Hawthorn has
a well established and well deserved reputation as a heart tonic.
It's especially useful in treating the heart fatigue known as
congestive heart failure. But research shows that this herb
also helps prevent heart attack. It improves blood circulation
through the heart by opening the coronary arteries. It also
increases the heart's ability to cope with a loss of oxygen,
which is what happens when clogged coronary arteries reduce
the heart's blood supply. Hawthorn also helps keep the heart
beating properly, helping the blood flow more easily, relieving
strain on the heart and reducing blood pressure.
